As you all know many video games have been inspired
by dungeons and dragons over the years. We Greyhawk fans got the Temple of
Elemental Evil video game for the PC years ago. Though the game was really fun,
large scale battles would cause it to crash often...
Now with the Chronicles of Mystara and the new beta
for Neverwinter available. I've been thinking
of how to Skyrim Greyhawk. Even if you're not one to involve yourself in video
games. The elder scroll series has an immense storyline that can be
incorporated into your grey hawk campaign.
The Dwarves in the elder scrolls have been missing
for centuries. There are more elf species then are needed. Orcs still have a
dungeon and dragon feel and come off more klingon like than complete monster
type savages. Though Turosh Mak would be very interesting in an elder scroll
fashion. Khajit could fill in the role for the baklunish people, they have a
rich history that could easily fill in that role without having to change the
baklunish pantheon. Argonians are the rhenee of the elder scroll games. They
actually can live in the water, making for and undersea race a certain canonfire
member would love. The redguards can easily be baklunish as well or be the
replacment for the oerids as the redguards represent a martial society with a
baklunish like culture. The Altimer 'aka' high elves behave a lot like the suel,
though that makes killing them especially in Skyrim, much more fun. The bretons
have the magical ability we come to expect from the suel. However, there is a
group of bretons that are called the foresworn that work well for the flan as
they still worship the old gods and if you play Skyrim you can easily see the
connection. Then we have the imperials which are not too shabby, have oeridian
written all over them. Well educated and well spoken they are known for their
discipline and training of their citizen armies. Because of this, the imperials
have dominated Tamerial for more than 2,000 years. The nord's fill in the role
of the barbarians of the Thillonrian Peninsula perfectly. The easiest of the
remaining races are the Bosmer 'aka' wood elves enough said. Then you have the
very interesting Dumer 'aka' dark elves, if you get a chance check out Morrowwind
which will give you a feel of what dark elves are really suppose to be like.
