Tis the season...As reported over at Greyhawk Grognard (via ENWorld forums), Wizards of the Coast has laid off two well known, long time employees: Steve Winter and Rich Baker. Follow the link for more information and discussion.
This is just further evidence of the senility infecting WotC at this time. Paizo would do well to snatch these guys up and put them to work . . . fast.
We'll see what happens. thanks for cluing us in to this, Mort. Always seems to happen at Christmas, doesn't it?
It seems that there's a sentiment that a company should never let people go. It's a huge corporation, and positions change and people have to change jobs - it's part of the grown-up world.
Now, that being said, *this* *friggin'* *SUCKS*!! 20+ years with WotC, and they let go one of their greatest creative minds of their staff. I know it's not so much about him personally as it is about his job being eliminated and not bothering to give him a different job. No job-loyalty whatsoever! 20+ years! And I bet he's not even getting severance or retirement! Bastards.
