Sunsebb Sodality

Not much is known about this religious sect that venerates Saint Kargoth and his fellow death knights.  There appears to be no cohesive structure to this organization. Yet somehow it is rumored to have existed for over 300 years...

The King of Death Knights himself seems to care little for this cult. Its members gain no divine powers or spells from the death knights they worship. One could assume that the death knights might use this group in some regard. They could be mortal forces to invoke the death knights will. Perhaps the death knights choose their undead servants from its members. Though one would wonder why they're renegade sects of hextorians who venerate Kargoth, and what if any connection they have to the Sodality itself?

I wonder if anyone has utilized this little known religious cult in any of their Greyhawk games? If so what have you done with them, and what role did they play in your campaign?

  1. They're a bunch of crazies who think they can gain something by venerating such powerful beings. Those powerful beings, however, aren't gods and don't care anything about those who venerate them, unless they decide there might be some use for them as canon fodder...

  2. Yes, they want you to believe they are unorganized. I believe there is more to this group than they would like us to believe. Over 300 years of existence means they are more organized than they would have us believe.
